EdgePro FAQ's

How do I curve or bend my edging?

EdgePro Landscape Edging can be curved and bent. Please view the "Bending" step on our Product Installation Guide or contact our customer support team for assistance.

Can I cut my edging to exact lengths?

EdgePro can be cut with a metal cutting blade in most hand tools like hacksaws, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, etc. Our recommendation is to overlap your edging with our Edging Connectors to achieve your desired length, rather than cutting.

Can a rubber mallet be used for installation?

A rubber mallet can be used to install EdgePro Landscape Edging. For most effective use, we recommend using a mallet or steel hammer with a wood block positioned across the spine of the edging.

Can EdgePro be installed in rocky soil?

EdgePro Landscape Edging has "teeth-like" sharpness to allow installation in all landscapes. Small rocks can impede the installation but are typically not an issue. Large rocks may make hammering in difficult, it's best to remove them if hit during the installation.

Could I hit my sprinkler lines?

Sprinkler line depths can vary with climate, regulations, and installers. EdgePro is designed to be installed at 6-inches or less so it is typically not an issue. We recommend that you install with caution just to be sure.

How do I prevent my Edging from rusting?

EdgePro Landscape Edging is designed to provide the rust-look finish. However, the edging can be sealed with a clear coat to help prevent rusting. Here are some of the most popular products for achieving this:

  • Rust-Oleum Clear Ultra Cover
  • Flood Floetrol (this is actually a paint additive but works fairly well on sealing metals)
  • Everbrite
  • KBS Coatings
  • ProtectaClear Coating
  • Spraymax 2K
  • Krylon CoverMaxx

How do I make my Edging rust faster?

The speed of the rusting process depends heavily on your climate. The more wet the conditions, the faster the rusting process will occur.

Will my Edging get damaged from weed eaters?

EdgePro Landscape edging is the most durable edging available. Weed eaters will not damage the steel. The only effect may be some scratching away of the newly formed surface rust.
